“I’ve got a foot in country, and a foot in Americana…and if I had a third foot, it’d be in jazz.”
- Mandy Curo
Hi! Hola! And Haawka! I’m Mandy, a local native singer and songwriter. I play covers from Etta James, to the Eagles, to Dolly Parton, but my passion is with the originals. My songs are little snapshots of my life, growing up on an Indian Reservation, falling in love, falling out of love, juggling husband, kids, and pursuing my dream of performing, saying hello, saying goodbye…you know, life!
I’ve been singing all my life. My whole family is into music, so for me it was normal. I thought every family did the same. Growing up I was always listening to Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson. I have always had a heart for those classic country songs. Along the way, I’ve discovered a little bit of folk, jazz, and rock, all of which you’ll hear at my shows. As I got older, I found my own voice. I wrote my first song at 17, and I haven’t stopped since. It comes so easy to me. There’s so much beauty in life, and I’ve gotta write about it all. I get my inspiration from nature and people. Music is my therapy. It lifts my spirits; it makes me feel like I am not alone. My goal is to let my music be a window into me, so you won’t feel alone either.
